The immediate past Caretaker Chairman of Logo LGA, Benjamin Uzenda, who confirmed the development to The Nation, said the attack was carried out on Sunday morning around 7:00 am.

It was gathered that the attacks involved arson and the destruction of farmlands and crops in the area.

Confirming the incident, Uzenda said: “They (herdsmen) were armed with sophisticated weapons and immediately opened fire on residents who were preparing to attend morning church service.

“It looks like coordinated, planned attacks as they opened fire on the harmless villagers, butchered some bodies after shooting them, and gunned down women and children.

“The invaders operated for hours and fled before security personnel arrived at the scene.”
