Oyo State Football Association under the able leadership of Alakinyele of Akinyele, HRM Oba James Odeniran in conjunction with Peculiar Ultimate have on Tuesday, 19th November, 2024 unveiled Logo for 2024 Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde under 20 Football League in Ibadan.

Highlighting the vision behind the sponsorship, the Chairman, Peculiar Ultimate represented by Mr Lekan Adeleke said the aims among other things are to work along with vision of Governor Seyi Makinde in creating platform for the youths to thrive in the state:

In his words: “We’re incredibly proud to be associated with Governor Seyi Makinde for this laudable intiatve. His incredible performances in the state has endeared us to sponsor this league. We wish to leverage on his vision and create a platform for the youths to thrive. We look to set ourselves up for a strong and prosperous future in Oyo state,” said Adeleke.

“To be successful, we’ve got to be prepared to innovate and push boundaries. This bolder, more powerful logo symbolises power of youths while also paying important homage to our Governor and Oyo State in general “

“We understand the significance of collaborating with Oyo FA in this project and sponsoring it will unearth a lot of talents from the state”.

Represented by Mrs Adegoke, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke lauded the efforts of Oyo FA and appreciated Peculiar Ultimate for creating the platform affirming that it’s in line with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde in building the talented youths in the state .

Mrs Adegoke said: “We sincerely appreciate Peculiar Ultimate for evolving this idea and it is a testament to their impactful drive in unearthing talents. Kudos to Oyo FA on their proactive drive . They have proved to be a great propelling engine for the future of our youths in the state.I must reiterate that this program aligns with Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision of building the youths in our dear state”.

Earlier, the Chairman, Oyo State Football Association, Alakinyele of Akinyele, HRM Oba James Odeniran in an open remarks thanked the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde for his laudable intiatves in various youth development programs. He further appreciated Peculiar Ultimate for sponsoring the league and assured them of the best . He specifically praised Peculiar Ultimate for associated with Oyo FA having done same with 3SC, Osun FA and Edo Queens.

Oba Odeniran said: “We wish to commend the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde for making youths thrive in the state. We sincerely appreciate the stakeholders present too, without you, there won’t be FA and more importantly, Peculiar Ultimate for their goodwill in sponsoring GSM U20 Football League.”

The former FIFA badge referee added :”While we are looking forward as an institution in pursuit of success, we will always respect rules guiding the game. Let me inform you that Peculiar Ultimate have replicated same in Osun, Edo and of course Shooting Stars. They will forever remain at the heart of the F.A.”

Enumerating the rules of the game, the Secretary, Oyo FA,Mr Kehinde Ojelowo said the winners will go home with a sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira while Runners up will receive Three Hundred Thousand Naira and third place will win Two Hundred Thousand Naira. He added that Best goalkeeper, Highest goal scorer and best referee will also receive awards.

The registration commences on Tuesday, 19th November and will close on Tuesday 26th November, 2024 .
