In a show of strength and unity, thousands of Labour Party (LP) members and supporters gathered today at Lafenwa, Abeokuta North, to witness the official kick-off of Honourable Omololu Idowu’s chairmanship campaign for the upcoming Local Government election and then moved round the Local Government to express their readiness to bring positive change in the coming LG election in the state.
The highly anticipated event drew top party executives, including the Party’s State Chairman; Engr Lookman Abiodun Jagun, the state Youth leader; Mr. Malik, the Ogun Central Women leader of the party; Mrs Monsurat Shittu, the Party’s LG Chairman; Comrade Akanbi Simeon, and other notable stakeholders, who joined forces to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to good governance and transformative leadership.
Hon. Omololu Idowu, the Chairmanship Candidate and a seasoned grassroots politician, took centre stage to outline his comprehensive 7-point agenda, tailored to address the pressing needs of Abeokuta North residents.
7-Point Agenda: A Vision for Prosperity
- Agricultural Development: Idowu pledged to revolutionize the agricultural sector through sustainable practices, modern farming techniques, and empowerment programs for farmers.
- Rural Infrastructure: He vowed to prioritize infrastructure development, focusing on roads, bridges, and community facilities to enhance connectivity and quality of life.

The campaign rally subsequently traversed the Local Government, with Idowu and his team engaging residents, listening to their concerns, and sharing his vision for transformative leadership as the people express joy to have him as the candidate
As the Labour Party’s flagbearer, Honourable Omololu Idowu has sent a clear message: Abeokuta North is ready for a new era of progress, and he is the leader to usher it in.
Mr. Malik, the State’s Youths Leader present at the event, expressed optimism about Idowu’s candidacy: “Omololu Idowu embodies the values of our party. His 7-point agenda addresses the heart of our community’s needs. We are confident in his ability to deliver.”
