It could be recalled that on January 5th 2023, suspected gunmen had abducted Mr Collins Abah while on his way to work, while a few days later on the 18th of January 2023 his son was also abducted and was later released.

It was gathered that Abah was the Personal Assistant to Christopher Elehu, the candidate of LP for Onuimo Local Government Area Constituency, Imo State, South-East, who was killed by suspected assassins in mid December, 2022 at his residence.

But what would have been a reprieve for the family, turned to another story when the Imo State Command of Nigeria Police announced the arrest of one of the abductors named, Ignatius Oboh, who confessed to be one of those engaged to ‘deal’ with Mr Abah and his household because according to him, he knew too much on what led to the assassination of his Principal, Hon Christopher Elehu

The suspect who confessed to the Investigative Police Officer handling the case, (names withheld), said the assassination of Christopher may be from the highly influential politicians in the country, and he had no opportunity of meeting the sponsor (s) one on one.

He revealed that they were engaged to abduct Abah because he had so much information that was needed by their sponsor, and all efforts for him to confess and reveal what they needed from him was not given, hence he was killed.

While the Family of Abah was told to report the following week in order to identify the killer of their brother, it was gathered that the suspect escaped from the Police custody.

Speaking to Our Correspondent, a family member of Abah, Mr Innocent Abah said he could see a conspiracy from the Police in hiding some facts from the family.

He revealed that a very senior Police Officer has confined in him that the matter surrounding his brother, Mr Collins Abah ‘s abduction and that of his son is more than what they thought as the arrested suspected member of the kidnapping gang, Ignatius Oboh had made so many revelations that it will be hard for them to arrest the culprits.

Mr Innocent Abah said, “the police, who begged that I should not mention his name told me categorically that the abduction, death of my brother involves people who are highly placed, he warned that the people are still bent in achieving their aims as it was revealed during the interrogation of the escaped kidnaper that Mr Abah might have some documents or information about his Principal, Hon. Christopher Elehu.

He called on well meaning Nigerians to save the family from being wiped off saying that the time the gunmen abducted Abah who is the breadwinner of the family has seriously affected the entire family including his wife and sons

“We didn’t know the whereabouts of his wife and children now, they all fled from home since then, but Our fear is because of the escape of the suspect from police custody, these people may wreck more havock on the family of care is not taken.
