…speaks on its effects in the fight against climate change
… It’s cost effective
As Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, announced plans by his administration to launch electric bikes as part of the state’s energy transition initiative, a former Chairmanship aspirant from Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Akeem Oluseye has commended the initiative, saying that it will help reduce the cost of transportation.
Oluseye who gave the commendation while speaking with some selected Journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, said the initiative will also reduce the effect on climate change because it will be environmentally friendly.
Oluseye who is also a former House of Assembly aspirant in Abeokuta North Local Government of Ogun State under the banner of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), said the Governor who launched a CNG- powered buses last year, which has been a tremendous achievement in reducing the effects of subsidy removal on the people, will create another monumental reduction in the cost of transportation of goods to the end users when the electric motorcycles become fully operational.
His words, “the initiative will reduce the cost of transportation, which is one of the major reasons for the inflated cost of food prices in the state.
“The alternative means of transportation is environmentally friendly, which is in line with climate change advocacy.
He said the initiative is good because electric motorcycles will use limited non-renewable fuel and don’t pump out a lot of harmful substance into the air, thereby reducing environmental pollution.
Hon Oluseye called on the good people of Ogun state to support the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration, to have an environmental sustainable society.
