Dr. Coker enjoined Civil Servants to also play their part by enrolling for the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme (OGSHISC), in order to access free health benefits for a minimum amount of N1,000 per month.

“We don’t have to wait to the point that we are dropping dead; with health insurance, you can have your screening done, check your blood pressure, blood sugar and other health-related screenings, free of charge”, she said.

The Commissioner appreciated World Health Organisation (WHO), for its support in sensitising the people about their health, particularly the Civil Servants with different free tests including, Malaria, Hepatitis, Diabetes, Hypertension and Tuberculosis, among others.

In his goodwill message, State Coordinator, WHO, Dr. Akinola Fatiregun, promised the organisaton’s continued support to government and the people on their health activities.

In his welcome address, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Kayode Oladehinde, who urged people to be proactive with their health, especially Civil Servants to take advantage of the free screening for common health conditions and take steps towards living a healthier lifestyle, to justify Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration’s investment in all primary to tertiary levels in health sector across the state.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Kolawole John, expressed gratitude to government for organising the programme.
