Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has expressed appreciation to Access Bank, Access Holdings Plc and its chairman Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede for having him at the Guest Lecture Leadership Series and pulling off a surprise birthday treat.

The lecture series was a brainchild of the late Access Holdings CEO Herbert Wigwe.

Mr Wigwe, his wife Chizoba and first son Chizi died in a helicopter crash in Southern California, United States on February 9. They have since been buried.

In an Instagram post on Monday, Osinbajo said Wigwe initiated the series because he believed in collective insight and mentorship.

“In honoring a promise to Herbert, a dear friend and the visionary behind this Guest Lecture Leadership Series, we find a depth of purpose that transcends mere words,” he wrote.

“Herbert’s legacy of resilience and unity becomes our lighthouse, guiding us through the complexities of leadership and the evolving landscape of work.

“His wish for this engagement was more than a mere request; it was a testament to his belief in the transformative power of collective insight and the enduring spirit of mentorship that continues to inspire us in his absence.”

Prof Osinbajo added, “I am deeply thankful to Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede and the entire @myaccessbank @theaccesscorp leadership team for this opportunity to delve together into these critical areas. Your warm welcome, highlighted by a touching birthday surprise, has deepened my connection to this moment, reinforcing the importance of our collective endeavor.”

The former number two citizen turned 67 on March 8.
