Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Authourity, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, confirmed the incident.

Oke-Osanyitolu added that LASEMA, quickly activated the state’s emergency response team, with the prompt arrival of LRT from Igando Base at the incident scene by 0603hrs to restore sanity on the road.

“Further investigation at the scene of incidence revealed the accident occurred due to the reckless driving on the part of the truck driver which led to the truck falling sideways and hitting the Toyota Hi-Ace bus in the process.

“Though, the truck driver and his assistant escaped from the scene, no life was lost,” LASEMA boss explained.

However, it was gathered that some passengers of the Hi-Ace bus who suffered minor injuries were taken to hospital for treatment.

As of press time, transloading of the spilled commodities (loaded bags of cattle horns), into an alternative truck was done by responders to evacuate the impediment off the road for free movement of motorists.
