The immediate past High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji-Ishola, and Rt.Hon.Kunle Oluomo has charged Nigerian students to value education and face academics, noting that it is the only way to attain the highest feat.

Sarafa stated this during the 2023 National Convention of Nawair-ud-deen Grammar School Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday, held at the school premises.

The immediate past High Commission to the UK who was an alumnus of the school, 1977 set submitted it is pertinent that the students should be inspired by great people in the society, noting that if they attend the school, they can attain the highest feat in their career.

While pointing out that the values the school inculcated in him when he was a student are still useful to him today everywhere.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Ogun state House of Assembly, the Rt. Honorable Olakunle Oluomo his submission challenged the old student association to ensure that the school becomes one of the model schools in the state.

He noted that the only thing that the school needed to be on the list of model schools in the state is just a little effort of the old student, by providing a standard hostel for the school, disclosing that he is also working towards the same things for high school.

He said, “I appreciate NUDGOSA for turning the school around, but I want to implore you the alumni to ensure the turnaround of the school is to be among the league of model schools in Ogun state”.

He also commissioned the renovated block of classrooms and principal office by the 78/83 set of the school.

In the same development, the national President-elect, Alhaji Fasiu Bakenne in his acceptance speech, appreciated the members for their support, while calling on them to continue giving back to their alma mater

Baakene highlighted some of the works being done by the alumni association towards the school’s development, calling for more, and embracing them for unity.

Also, the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Nawair-ud-deen Grammar School, Obantoko, Chief Niyi Lasaki noted that the contributions of alumni association in the school cannot be quantified, appreciating the alumni of the school for contributing towards its development.

Vice President 1: Dr. Lateef Odekule, Ass. Secretary: Azeez Agboola, PRO: Sanni Damilola, Social Secretary: Yinka Aroyeun, Ex-officio member: Shina Showunmi, Welfare Officer: Suraj Olukotun.

Sango Ifo Chapter
SecAdebayo Segun Adebayo (Engr) Ex-officio member Iswat Okanlomo.
