The accident involved a passenger bus and several cars, some of which caught fire after there was an oil leak from one of the vehicles.

Al-Ahram, state-run newspaper, quoted the ministry of social solidarity and Nasser Social Bank as saying families of the deceased will be provided with EGP 60,000 (about $1,946).

The ministry will also reportedly provide financial assistance to the injured based on their needs and the severity of their injuries.
