The video, which has gone viral on the internet, was shared by a social media platform, X user @victorhouston16 on Wednesday.

The video showed that the man attempted to hang himself using a noose tied to a banner hanging on a bridge.

Salient Times recently reported that suicide cases in the country have been on the rise.

The report cited a 2019 World Health Organisation (WHO) report ‘‘Suicide in the World: Global Health Estimates’’, indicating that Nigeria has become one of the epicentres of suicide in the world, with a suicide estimate of 17.3 per 100,000.

According to the report, this is higher than the global (10.5 per 100,000) and Africa (12.0 per 100,000) estimates.
