The Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has urged Nigerians to continue to be patient with the federal government, saying that there will be light at the end of the tunnel as the Federal government is not relenting on its oars to ensure that the economy improves.

Abiodun who paid an unscheduled visit to the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun state council on Tuesday, thanks Nigerians for their support.

The governor noted that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration is working assiduously to do everything he can to fulfil everything as encapsulated in the renewed Hope manifesto.

“I also want to through you plead to all of us to continue to be very patient, not just with this present administration but with the Federal Government.

“The Federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing everything he can to fulfil everything as encapsulated in the Renewed Hope manifesto.

“As we all witnessed the President hit the ground running the day he was inaugurated. He removed subsidies and deregulated the price of petrol.

“This was a burden that the country could no longer shoulder. Had we continued, this country would have been bankrupt.

“Not only did he do that, he quickly followed through by ensuring the convergence of naira to dollar exchange rate”, he added

Meanwhile, the governor in an interactive session urged newsmen to be professional, and patriotic while carrying out their role as watchdog and essential partners in the progress of nation building

“As you all know, our state and the country at large are in dire need of systemic media space that is progressive in orientation and developmental in thinking, to create an investment-friendly image”, he added

Speaking earlier, the State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju commended the Governor for the visit, while urging him to ensure that his media team are thoroughbred professionals.
