Recall that last week, operatives of the Ibadan Zonal command of the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) named one Olawale Balogun as a staff of the Centre arrested along with others for internet fraud.

However, a release signed by Segun Orisajo Head, of Public Relations and Information, Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta, said the hospital Management maintained that the man in question, Olawale Balogun Nurudeen absconded in 2021 about two years after employment and had since deleted his name from the hospital payroll.

To set the records straight, the Hospital Management wishes to state as follows:

“Olawale Balogun Nurudeen joined the Centre as a Clerical Officer II on 2nd November 2018 and had his appointment confirmed on 2nd November 2020.

” In 2021, he applied for study leave without pay and proceeded without approval.

” Following fruitless efforts to trace his whereabouts, the Management in July 2021 deleted his name from the payroll and had since neither reported for work nor reacted to the Management’s action

” The general public is hereby by this publication notified that Olawale Balogun allegedly arrested by the EFCC is not a staff of FMC Abeokuta and that no member of the Centre was involved in any internet fraud or related crimes.

” The staff of the Centre are dutiful and law-abiding and are familiar with the consequences of any infraction to the Public Service Rules”
