Why Peter Obi, Obidients are after my life- Arabambi
The National Publicity Secretary of Labour Party, Dr Abayomi Arabambi has shed more light to reasons why the embattled National Chairman of the Party, Barrister Julius Abure and the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi are after his life, saying that his request for accountability on the money generated for the 2023 general elections caused the rift among the Party members.
Arabambi who while addressing a Press Conference in Abeokuta said the crisis rocking the Party were divided into three major areas which include the pre election issues, general elections and Post elections issues.
On pre election issues, Arabambi said failure of Julius Abure and Mr Peter Obi to judiciously account for the money generated for the election amounting to several millions of Dollars and his insistence that he must use the money for the purpose it was meant for caused the crisis rocking the Party and created great enmity among the National Working Committee members.
Arabambi said Mr Peter Obi and Abure had gone to some parts of Europe and America to solicit for funds and on return from the journey got some money with assurance that the Party will have befitting Secretariat from Ward level to National Secretariat, but had to rescind from the promise on the reasons best known to them
When some of us asked the duo while the sudden change in the plan, nothing positive was forth coming from them and this was the crux of the matter.
He said the insistence and the challenge that all the money collected on behalf of the Party must be accounted for and use for the purposes it was meant for created the wide gap in the Party.
He alleged that instead for the duo to use the money for the purpose it was meant for, Mr Peter Obi took the money to Fidelity Bank and Zenith bank where he had interest, and lodge the monies.
“So apart from not funding the Party or contributing anything financially to the Party in spite of uding Labour Party to solicit for funds, he has not also paid those who served under the Party during the general elections.
“All Party agents and those that performed one role or the other had not received a dime from the Party”
He then said since he asked for accountability and prudence, many of the Obi followers and Julius Abure had been on his neck.
On Post election issues, Arabambi said “bringing of over 2m Youths to Abuja under the guise of coming to pray for the success of Peter Obi at the election petition tribunal is a ploy to cause unrest and destabilize the Federal Capital Abuja prevent may 29th Inauguration.
He called on the Inspector General of Police and Department of State Security to put a Peter Obi and Julius Abure under house arrest as they are bent in truncating May 29 inauguration.
“On Pre- Elections issues, the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Council (NEC) meet with Mr Peter Obi over four times between June and August last year 2022 where he agreed :
“That LP shall open one permanent offices in each electoral wards of the federation , One Local Government offices in each of the 774 Local Government and one state secretariat in each of the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory
“That he will provide financial support to all levels of the party which include the wards executives, Local Government executives , State Executives and the National Working Committee
“That he will provide financial support for all Labour Party National Assembly candidates, Governorship candidates as well as States house of assembly candidates.
He said none of the above was done for the Party.
While reacting to recent denial of attack on his life Arabambi said “the worthless piece write up in defense of the assassination plot against me by Mr Peter Obi , Labour Party Presidential candidate and the outsted , former National Chairman of Labour party Mr Julius Abure and by one Farouk Ibrahim Umar Prince Kennedy AHANOTU
“As an easy going person and the most Gentleman Political Comrade in Nigeria Political Space , I wouldn’t have dignified this beer parlour response lace with deliberate falsehood or considered it necessary to react to such an epistle of personal bitterness, ignorance and complete unintelligent outburst from the duo of Political Buccaneers, Scavengers , emergency democrats, political predators and jobbers, misfits and pedestrian politician ,but for the benefit of the few in the public who may innocently be mis informed by this ethically rusty and morally depraved social misfit and miscreants
“This two comedians due to their habitual mood swings shamelessly tasked the Nigeria Police and the Department of the State Security to invite me over a confirmed allegation of threats to my life by Mr Peter Obi, Labour Party’s presidential Flag bearer and Julius Abure but I would rather pleads with the Inspector General Of Police and the Director General of Department of State Service to immediately put Mr Peter Obi and Julius Abure under house arrest to save Nigeria democracy as they are hell bent on truncating May 29th inauguration of President Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Arabambi who showed Journalists some of the text and WhatsApp messages said he had already written the law enforcement agencies on the news to save his life from those he alleged to be threatening him.
