No fewer than seven persons have sustained gunshot injuries as some suspected land grabbers invaded Apete Community in Obantoko area of Odeda Local Government, Ogun State

It was learnt that efforts by the police to arrest the cuprits proved abortive.

Speaking, a community leader, Mr Tunde Ijaduola said they were members of a notorious land-grabbing syndicate, who had been terrorizing Apete and its environs.

Apete has been in recent times be under the siege of suspected land grabbers who is been sponsored by on Alhaji Ibrahim Sanusi, an Uncle to one Oluwatosin Dipeolu Samson.

According to an eyewitness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sanusi reportedly on the fateful day led about ten hoodlums to the home of his cousin, Oluwatosin Dipeolu Samson to reclaim a land document.

“These people have been a thorn in Our flesh in the Community, I don’t know why they have to be deadly like this, no fewer than seven people were wounded during the attack, and the police seems incapacitated.

“I understand that the main character they were looking for is Mr Oluwatosin Dipeolu Samson, who information said has escaped to an unknown place, they meant to kill him if they found him .

We can only appeal to the police to please come to Our aid, we are tired of this incessant attacks and insecurity.

“When they came, the hoodlums, numbering about ten, operating on motorcycles, invaded the community, armed with dangerous weapons, as they shot sporadically at people they sighted at Mr Oluwatosin Samson House.

“Consequently, seven amongst the residents sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries,” the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said.

Upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer, Obantoko it was gathered, quickly mobilized his anti-robbery men and moved to the scene.

On sighting the policemen, Omolola said the hoodlums took to their heels.

“Recovered from the scene of the attack is one locally made single barrelled-pistol, three live cartridges and two expended cartridges. The injured residents were taken to General hospital Ijaye, Abeokuta for medical attention.
