Associate Professor Olatunbosun Sunday Odusanya has continued to draw attention within academic and public administration circles following a career spanning more than three decades across government institutions and universities in Nigeria.
A proud Lagosian by birth, Odusanya, who currently lectures in the Department of Public Administration at the University of Delta, Agbor, has served in several leadership and administrative positions in both the public service and higher education sector since beginning his professional career in the mid-1990s.
His journey in public service started at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), where he held various administrative responsibilities before joining the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in 2003 as one of the institution’s pioneer administrative officers.
During his years at NOUN, he occupied several strategic positions, including Head of Registry and Administration, Head of Human Resources and Principal Assistant Registrar, contributing to the growth of the institution during its formative years.
His administrative experience later earned him an appointment as Director of Administration and Special Duties at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in 2016, where he participated in key institutional development initiatives.
In 2020, he was appointed Registrar of the university, a position through which he coordinated administrative activities and governance processes within the institution.
Beyond administration, Odusanya has established himself in academia through teaching, research and postgraduate supervision.
A graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University and the University of Ibadan, he holds academic qualifications in Political Science, Public Administration and Distance Education, including doctoral degrees in Public Policy and Administration and Distance Education.
Over the years, Odusanya has taught in several tertiary institutions, including the National Open University of Nigeria, Lagos State University, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Atiba University, Novena University and the University of Delta.
His research interests cover governance, public policy, leadership, educational management and public administration. He has published more than 80 scholarly articles in local, national and international journals, including Scopus-indexed publications, making significant contributions to research and knowledge development in his areas of specialization.
Academic records show that he has supervised hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate students while also participating in curriculum development, accreditation exercises and quality assurance activities across universities.
Odusanya is also a member and fellow of several professional bodies in the fields of public administration, governance and management.
Colleagues describe him as an academic and administrator whose career reflects a blend of public service experience, university governance and scholarship.
Having spent more than 30 years in public service and higher education administration, the Scholar remains actively involved in teaching, research and institutional development within Nigeria’s university system.
