The project, executed in partnership with EnerGas, was implemented across industrial facilities in Lagos and Ogun states using advanced EVO-MT® dual-fuel technology to convert a Caterpillar 3412 (810 kVA) diesel generator.

The innovative system enables the generator to operate with up to 45 per cent Pipeline Natural Gas (PNG), significantly reducing diesel consumption while maintaining stable and reliable power generation.

Industry experts have described the project as a breakthrough in industrial energy efficiency, particularly at a time when many businesses are grappling with rising energy costs and the need for sustainable power alternatives.

Speaking on the achievement, the Chief Executive Officer of dgset.com, Mr. Gandham Sridhar, said the successful deployment reinforces the company’s commitment to providing reliable, cost-effective and technologically advanced energy solutions for industries across the country.

Sridhar, who holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has more than 25 years of experience in Nigeria’s energy and engineering sector, noted that the company’s traditional strengths in generator sales, rentals, maintenance and engineering support are now being complemented by innovative fuel technologies.

“This milestone reinforces our commitment to delivering reliable, cost-efficient and technologically advanced energy solutions to industries across Nigeria,” he said.

According to him, dual-fuel technology represents a significant opportunity for industries seeking to reduce operational expenses without sacrificing performance.

“Dual-fuel capability is a game changer for industries seeking to reduce operating costs without compromising performance. It not only improves efficiency but also supports cleaner energy adoption and long-term sustainability,” Sridhar added.

Operational data released after the deployment showed impressive performance outcomes, including a 45 per cent reduction in diesel consumption.

The project also recorded fuel savings estimated at 41.4 litres per hour and hourly cost savings of approximately ₦26,413.

Environmental benefits were equally significant, with annual carbon dioxide emissions projected to decline by about 322 tonnes.

Gentec Energy disclosed that the entire project was completed within two weeks.

As part of the implementation process, Nigerian engineers and technicians received hands-on training to ensure long-term sustainability and effective operation of the system.

The company said the training component was designed to enhance local technical capacity and support knowledge transfer within the energy sector.

With more than 25 years of industry experience and over 300 megawatts of delivered power projects, Gentec Energy has established itself as a major player in Nigeria’s industrial power market.

Its services include gas and diesel generator sales, industrial generator rentals, preventive maintenance, major overhauls, alternator repairs, turbocharger repairs and the supply of critical spare parts.

The company also provides engineering support services and integration of gas-powered energy systems for industrial clients.

Gentec Energy’s customer base includes several leading manufacturing and industrial firms operating across Nigeria.
Energy analysts have described the company’s combination of engineering expertise, reliable equipment and innovative fuel technologies as a positive contribution to Nigeria’s ongoing energy transition agenda.

Analysts believe wider adoption of dual-fuel systems could help industries reduce production costs, improve competitiveness and lower their environmental footprint.

Reaffirming the company’s long-term vision, Sridhar said Gentec Energy remains committed to driving innovation, operational excellence and sustainability in support of industrial growth and national development.

He noted that as industries increasingly seek dependable and affordable energy solutions, the company will continue to invest in technologies that improve efficiency while supporting Nigeria’s economic transformation.
