The Federal Government on December 27 last year announced the grauduation of the Forest guards.

According to the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nuhu Ribadu, the Presidential Forest Guards Initiative launched by President Tinubu in May 2025 represents a coordinated Federal–State security intervention aimed at reclaiming Nigeria’s forests from criminal exploitation.

He mentioned that the Forest Guards were indigenous to their respective local government areas, enabling them to leverage terrain familiarity and community trust in countering banditry, kidnapping, and the illegal exploitation of forest resources.

In a post shared on social media today June 6, Dalung asked where the Forets guards were serving when terrorists still use forests to carry out their nefarious activities.
