United States President Donald Trump has insisted that the shooting incident which disrupted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner will not slow down his administration’s military campaign against Iran.

Speaking shortly after the incident at the White House, Trump said the attack would not change his position on the conflict, which has continued to escalate in recent weeks.

“It’s not going to deter me from winning the war in Iran,” he told reporters.

“I don’t know if that had anything to do with it, I really don’t think so, based on what we know.”

He said investigators were still looking into the motive behind the attack, but added that early findings did not clearly link it to the Iran war.

Trump also suggested the suspect acted alone, describing the attacker as a “lone wolf,” while stressing that security agencies were still piecing together what happened.

The shooting, which took place during the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, triggered panic and a rapid evacuation of top officials before the suspect was arrested by Secret Service agents.
