….Urges Yewa, Ketu communities to ignore divisive pre-primary campaigns

The Alaketu Illustrious Descendants (A.I.D), a prominent socio-cultural group in Ogun State, has distanced itself from individuals and groups endorsing political aspirants ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.

In a strongly worded statement, the group described such individuals as “rabble-rousers,” warning residents—particularly those of Yewa and Ketu extractions—to disregard their claims and pronouncements.

According to A.I.D, the endorsements being circulated do not reflect the will or interest of the people but are instead driven by hidden agenda.

“Their statements are not worth believing because they were issued to disorganize the public direction. They are sponsored by their masters and are only delivering services they have been paid for, not acting on objective grounds,” the statement read.

The group further accused some of the individuals of exhibiting anti-democratic tendencies, stressing that they represent personal interests rather than those of their communities.

A.I.D urged the public to remain patient and allow political parties to conclude their internal processes, emphasizing that candidates would emerge through constitutionally recognized procedures.

“We urge the public to wait patiently for the emergence of party candidates, which will be announced after the conduct of the primary elections,” the group stated.

Reaffirming its commitment to unity and democratic values, A.I.D said it would continue to promote peace, development, and protect the interests of the Ketu Kingdom.

“We will not be swayed by divisive rhetoric or personal interests,” the statement added.

The statement, signed by the leadership of the group, called on residents to remain vigilant and focused on the democratic process.

The development is expected to influence political discourse in Ogun State as parties intensify preparations for their primary elections.
