A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC and former Ekeremor Council Chairman, Hon. Seles Saboh has officially defected from the APC to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC with over 10, 000 of his loyalists.
Addressing a mammoth crowd during the defection ceremony in Yenagoa, Saboh said the decision to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress was necessitated by the need to render service to the people.
He emphasized that the values NDC stood for aligns with his desire for a more progressive and inclusive political platform, adding that he joined NDC to strengthen, support and ensure that it wins all elections in the state.
He said: ” I came with my supporters to strengthen, support NDC to win elections. If Bayelsa APC has four pillars as mobilizes Chief Seles is also one of the pillars and that pillar today has been moved from APC to NDC I came here with 10,200 followers to strengthened the party we are going to win all the state assembly seats, all National assembly seats and the governorship seat ”
He lauded the National leader of the party, Senator Seriake Dickson for the bold vision to establish a political party geared towards service to Nigerians.
National Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Moses Cleopas while reciewing the defectors praised Senator Seriake Dickson, the National leader of the party for his efforts to improve the lives of Bayelsans while he was governor of the state.
Cleopas stated that the NDC is a pan-Nigerian movement aiming to change the dynamics of Nigerian politics, benefiting both the weak and strong, rich and poor.
Cleopas emphasized that the NDC is not a regional or state party, but a national party committed to serving Nigeria and thanked Bayelsans for believing in Senator Dickson and the NDC’s vision.
Also speaking, Hon. Wisdom Fafi, member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency One in the Bayelsa assembly described NDC is a child of necessity whose birth is to come to salvage Bayelsans, adding that within a month of its registration the party has witnessed wide acceptability.
