Prince Olawale Yusuf Adeyemi-Oriola (Esq.) on Monday hosted a colourful Christmas celebration for hundreds of children in Ijebu-Ode, spreading joy, gifts, and festive cheer across the Agunsebi community.

Although unavoidably absent, Prince Adeyemi-Oriola was fully represented by members of his Obayori age group and family, who coordinated the event on his behalf.

They noted that the humanitarian gesture reflects the prince’s long-standing commitment to community service and child welfare.

Speaking with journalists via telephone, Prince Adeyemi-Oriola said the celebration was inspired by his personal conviction to make children feel loved and included during the Christmas season.

“Christmas is a period of giving, sharing joy, and making children feel that they truly belong,” he said.

He added that acts of generosity during festive periods give him deep personal fulfillment.

“If I do not give at a time like this, I do not feel relaxed, because Christmas represents love and sacrifice,” he noted.

The event drew parents, guardians, and community members, many of whom described the initiative as a meaningful contribution to child development and community bonding during the festive season.

Items distributed to the children included makeshift school bags containing water bottles, pens, notebooks, rulers, and erasers, alongside food packs. In addition, several bags of foodstuffs; such as garri, rice, and semovita-were presented to selected parents during a lively children’s dance competition, which added excitement to the celebration.

Members of Obayori Okunrin Asiwaju Akile Ijebu, including Otun Giwa Kuku, Ayodeji Kolade, and Oduwole Olabanji, were also present at the event. They congratulated Prince Adeyemi-Oriola and commended his generosity and commitment to uplifting children and the wider community during the Christmas period.
