Citizens Compass wins Online of the Year Category at Nigeria Media Nite Out Awards

CITIZENS COMPASS— Popular human interest online news platform, Citizens Compass, has won the Online of the Year Category at the 19th Nigeria Media Nite Out Awards (NMNA), 2025.
The award ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State.
Citizens Compass beat three other nominees to win the Online of the Year category.

The news platform which commenced operation in April 2021, was nominated for its consistency and added value to human interest and community stories.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Mr. Shola Olugbemiro,
Convener/Chief Executive Officer,
NMNA, had announced that voting for all nominated categories had officially
commenced and Citizens Compass keyed into this by canvassing for votes.

Citizens Compass is a daily news website which commenced operations in April 2021 with special focus on human interest and community stories.

Though she started her career as a Freelancer with the News and Current Affairs Department of the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Bose Adelaja, a product of the Mass Communication Department of Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, calved a niche for herself as the pioneer reporter on the Metro desk of Vanguard.

Speaking about the Award, she said it recognises hard work in the field of journalism.

Bose Adelaja thanked the organisers of the Award for recognising the efforts of Citizens Compass.

She thanked her family, esteemed readers, friends, and well wishers for voting Citizens Compass as Online of the Year.

According to her, “Special appreciation to the organisers of the 19th edition of the Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award 2025 for organising this epoch-making event that nominated Citizens Compass as Online of the Year which was won through massive votes.

“Many thanks to our esteemed readers, family, colleagues, friends and well wishers for these votes.

“This Award is dedicated to our esteemed readers both in Nigeria and overseas.

With Mr. Shola Olugbemiro as the
Convener/Chief Executive Officer,
the Nigeria Media Nite Award is an annual event that recognizes outstanding contributions to the media industry and national development.
