BIPC Promotes Economic Growth with Gboko Bakery, Plans Asset Audit for Wannune Tomato Factory

Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) has successfully commissioned its third bakery in Gboko, a major commercial hub in the state, marking a significant step towards economic development and job creation in the state.

The project, initiated under the guidance of Governor Hyacinth Alia, aims to boost industrial growth and support small-scale production in local Communities.

During the commissioning, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha, CFA, the Group Managing Director of BIPC, highlighted the positive impact of the bakery on commercial activities in the area.

He also announced plans to construct a fourth bakery in Otukpo town to extend the economic benefits to the people of Benue South Senatorial District.

The BIPC boss reaffirmed the company’s commitment to reviving moribund state enterprises, including the Wannune Tomato Factory, and to return Dangote Cement to Benue ownership for the benefit of the people.

He urged Benue citizens to continue supporting Governor Alia’s administration in its economic recovery agenda.

Performing the commissioning, the Paramount Ruler of the Tiv Nation, His Royal Majesty, Prof. James Iorzua Ayatse, represented by Tor Jemgbagh, HRH Chief Afatyo Ajoko, commended Governor Alia for transforming the state’s economic landscape, and appealed to residents of Gboko to protect and sustain the project for the collective good of the community.

Earlier, State Commissioner Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Alumo Orpin, reaffirmed the government’s determination to supporting BIPC as a strategic driver of job creation and industrial growth.

In a related development, Dr. Asemakaha has directed an immediate asset audit of the Wannune Tomato Factory to assess its condition for potential revitalization.

The GMD expressed concern over the facility’s vandalization and emphasized the need for security measures to protect it from further damage.

Benue State Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Hon. Alumo Orpin, revealed that the state government had set a deadline for the private partner involved in the factory’s operation, indicating that action would be taken if terms were not met by the specified date.

On her part, the BIPC Board Chairman, Chief Lady Elizabeth Shuluwa, reaffirmed dedication to revitalizing crucial enterprises like the tomato factory to support local farmers and stimulate economic growth in Benue State.
