Bayelsa Govt Intervenes In Communal Dispute

The Bayelsa State Government has successfully intervened in a brewing communal dispute between Bilabiri 1 Community in Egbemo-Angalabiri and Agoro Community, both in Ekeremor Local Government Area.
The intervention was facilitated by the Ministry of Community Development, led by Commissioner Hon. Belemote Alfred Watson.
Walson commended the leaders and representatives of Bilabiri 1 Community for bringing the matter to the government, rather than resorting to violence and assured them of a firm resolution to the dispute, emphasizing the state’s commitment to peace and stability.
Hon. Watson emphasized the importance of dialogue and collaboration in resolving communal disputes.
He encouraged the communities to work together with the ministry and state government to find peaceful solutions, prioritizing the people’s interest and wellbeing.
According to the Commissioner, the; Bayelsa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Sen. Douye Diri and Deputy Governor Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, has demonstrated its commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the state, with zero tolerance for activities that could breach the peace.
