The Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationalities in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has condemned what it termed the alleged assassination of Wanemi Olotu, describing him as a good man who was humane and respectful.

The Chairman of the Central Zone Movement for MOSIEND, Comr. Idougha Tari Patrick, paid tribute to Olotu, highlighting his contributions to peace in the Niger Delta region, noting that Olotu was a peace-loving individual who helped those in need and paid school fees for many persons.

Idougha also condemned the false narrative spread on social media, portraying Wanemi Olotu as a notorious criminal killed in a supremacy battle.

He rejected this characterization, describing Olotu as a good man who contributed positively to the community, emphasizing the need for accurate information and responsible reporting in the public domain.

MOSIEND called for a thorough investigation into Olotu’s assassination, rejecting claims that it was a rival cult fight, urging security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure peace in Bayelsa State.

The group appealed to youths in Bayelsa to stop killing themselves and work towards protecting their region.

MOSIEND emphasized the need for peace and security in the state to attract investors and create jobs for young graduates.

Also speaking, a founding member and elder of MOSIEND, T.K Ogoriba expressed sadness that Wanemci Olotu’s life was cut short at his prime where he would have deployed his energy for the course and emancipation of the people.

Ogoriba described Olotu as a goodman filled with humility who is never bossy as a vice chairman of MOSIEND and man noted as a team player.

Also paying tribute, elder brother to late Wanemi Olotu, Pst. Abadi Bauid said he’s still in shock over the sudden death of Wanemi whom he described as a committed executive member of MOSIEND who gave his all for the struggle.

Pst Bauid condemned in strong terms the false report dished out to the public by the Bayelsa State commissioner of Police about the person of late Wanemi whom he noted that the commissioner had not met neither known.

Also in their tribute, Secretary of MOSIEND, Simeon Agulafu and Clan Chairman, Ayama Ogbia, Nelson Walama said their late comrade was a goodman who hates oppression.
