A total of 204 students under Ebonyi foreign Scholarship have been airlifted to their various countries of study

While Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru advised the students to serve as exemplary ambassadors of the state

The scholarship scheme spread across Masters and Doctorate Degrees, which is a demonstration of the commitment of the state Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who made education a centrepiece of his government.

Addressing the beneficiaries shortly before their departure at Wilberforce Chuba Okadigb Airport Ezza, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru laid bare his intentions to leave trails of literacy before the end of his administration.

He observed: “Today, we celebrate not just an investment in education but an investment in the future of our state.

“You, our scholars, represent the best and brightest minds, chosen for your brilliance, dedication, and potential to lead.

“This opportunity is a testament to your hard work and to our unwavering commitment to fostering excellence among our youth.

“As you embark on this transformative journey to world-class institutions abroad, let me remind you of the immense responsibility that comes with this privilege. You are not just students; you are Ambassadors of our state”.

The Governor reminded the students of the need to take their studies seriously and to return to the state upon completion of their programmes to make meaningful contributions to the State.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Amari Omaka earlier explained that a total of 1000 benefitted from the first phase of the scholarship scheme.

Giving the breakdown of the scholars, Professor Omaka said 541 Scholars are already studying for various cadres of degrees in the while the remaining students are departing for United Kingdom and selected universities in Africa.

Speakers, at the event including the APC state party chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, Professor Chigozie Ogbu, and other stakeholders applauded the governor’s huge investment in human capital development.
