In its bid in making a meaningful impact on the environment, and create wealth among the populace, Oriki Energy has concluded arrangement to uplift 100 Ogun Entrepreneurs with Solar energy.

Addressing a Press Conference in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, the Funmi Kogbe, who spoke on behalf of Oriki Energy said that the startup programme, which starts on May 1st, will end on August 10th with his Royal Majesty Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola supporting the gesture.

Funmilola Kogbe said the empowerment, which is in conjunction with the Olowu of Owu, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, and the Abeokuta diaspora, will make Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, a pilot city.

She added that the programme has been scheduled for 100 days featuring 50 men and 50 women as beneficiaries.

She stated “It is now time to take ORÍKÌ ENERGY to the next level. Our hometown of Abeokuta, Ogun State, will serve as a pilot city.

“Starting on Labour Day, May 1st, 2024, and for the next 100 days (until August 10th), the ORÍKÌ ENERGY team will help 100 entrepreneurs (50 women and 50 men) start a solar business with the support of HRM Oba (Prof) Saka Adelola Matemilola (Otileta VIII), Olowu of Owu Kingdom, and the Abeokuta diaspora.

“ORÍKÌ ENERGY aims to empower Africa’s entrepreneurs and catalyze sustainable development across the continent. Together, we can illuminate the path towards a brighter future for Africa.”

Also, a statement issued by Wale Oyekanmi, a partner, he stated that ORÍKÌ ENERGY, a pioneering startup, is poised to revolutionize Africa’s entrepreneurial landscape through sustainable solar energy solutions.

He added that with a mission to empower 1 million entrepreneurs across the continent by 2034, ORÍKÌ ENERGY is on a mission to catalyze economic growth and drive social change by harnessing the power of the sun.

According to him, Africa stands at a critical juncture, where access to reliable electricity remains a significant barrier to economic development.

“ORÍKÌ ENERGY recognizes this challenge as an opportunity to innovate and create tangible impact.

“By leveraging solar energy, the company, based in Paris, France, aims to provide clean, affordable, and sustainable power solutions to budding entrepreneurs, unlocking their potential to thrive in their respective ventures.

“ORÍKÌ ENERGY is not just a company; it’s a movement towards a brighter, more sustainable future for Africa,” says Seni OYEKANMI, Founder and CEO of ORÍKÌ ENERGY.

“ “We envision a continent where every community has access to the energy they need to fuel their ambitions and drive economic progress in the continent.

“The initiative aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

“ By facilitating access to solar energy solutions, ORÍKÌ ENERGY aims to foster entrepreneurship, create job opportunities, and stimulate economic activity at the grassroots level.

“ORÍKÌ ENERGY’s approach goes beyond mere provision; it encompasses comprehensive support and training to ensure the sustainable growth of entrepreneurs.

“ Through future partnerships with local communities, governments, and NGOs, ORÍKÌ ENERGY seeks to build a robust network of solar hubs that nurtures and sustains growth and education across Africa.

“Our first mobile phone charging kiosks have already provided energy to communities across Nigeria and financial independence for dozens of ORÍKÌ entrepreneurs and their families.”
