Elemide, in a goodwill message signed by his Media Aide, Kunle Idowu and issued on Tuesday, described Eid-el-Kabir as a season of sacrifice, obedience, love and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

The Speaker urged Muslim faithful to continue to uphold the virtues of tolerance, compassion, peaceful coexistence and unwavering faith, noting that such values remained essential to nation-building and societal harmony.

He congratulated the Muslim Ummah for witnessing yet another Eid celebration, while calling on them to use the spiritual significance of the festival to pray for the peace, unity and prosperity of Ogun State and the country at large.

According to him, the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir should inspire Nigerians, especially political leaders and citizens, to make sacrifices that would promote collective development and improve the wellbeing of the people.

Elemide stressed the need for citizens to continue supporting the government at all levels through constructive engagement, prayers and patriotic conduct capable of sustaining democratic growth.

The Speaker also appealed to residents of the state to celebrate in moderation and avoid actions capable of threatening public peace and security during and after the festivities.

He assured the people that the state legislature would continue to enact laws and support policies aimed at improving governance and enhancing the quality of life of the citizenry.

Elemide further commended Muslim leaders and clerics for their continuous prayers and guidance toward promoting moral values and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

He said religious harmony remained one of the strongest foundations for sustainable development, urging adherents of different faiths to continue to live together in love and unity.

Elemide noted that the current economic and social challenges confronting the nation required collective sacrifice, understanding and cooperation among all citizens irrespective of ethnic, political or religious affiliations.

The Speaker maintained that the Eid celebration offered another opportunity for reflection on the importance of selflessness and commitment to humanity.

He encouraged well-meaning Nigerians and privileged individuals to extend support to the less privileged during the festive season, saying acts of kindness and charity would help strengthen social bonds within communities.

Elemide also praised security agencies in Ogun State for their efforts in maintaining law and order across the state, especially during festive periods.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with relevant authorities by providing useful information that could assist in preventing criminal activities.

The Speaker reaffirmed the commitment of the Assembly under his leadership to continue prioritising legislative initiatives that would deepen democratic governance and accelerate socio-economic development in Ogun State.

He further assured constituents and residents that the Assembly would continue to work harmoniously with other arms of government in the overall interest of the people.
