…Prays for Safe Rescue of Abducted Teachers, Students
…Seeks divine guidance for Tinubu ahead of 2027 elections
The Oluomo of Yewaland, Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, has felicitated Muslims across the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid al-Adha celebration, urging Nigerians to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, compassion and unwavering faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
Chief Egungbohun, in an e-signed goodwill message from Madinah in Saudi Arabia, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the grace bestowed on the Muslim faithful to witness this year’s Eid celebration.
He called on Nigerians to use the sacred period to reflect on the true essence of Eid al-Adha by promoting love, unity and peaceful coexistence irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliations.
The renowned businessman and community leader also encouraged citizens to extend support to the less privileged and work collectively towards building a secure, peaceful and prosperous nation.
While rejoicing with Muslims, Egungbohun expressed concern over the growing insecurity and recent abductions recorded in different parts of the country, noting that the joy of the festive season remains incomplete as long as innocent citizens are still held captive.
He specifically lamented the plight of abducted teachers, students and other victims across affected communities, including Oyo, Ogbomoso and Borno States.
According to him, “We stand in total solidarity with the grieving families in Oyo, Ogbomoso, Borno and other parts of Nigeria. Our hearts are with every teacher and student taken from their schools and homes.
“During this holy season of answered prayers, while I beseech Allah, Al-Mu’min, to soften the hearts of the captors, I pray for a swift, safe and miraculous rescue of all victims.”
The Yewa leader further urged Nigerians not to lose hope but remain steadfast in faith and prayers for enduring peace and security across the country.
Egungbohun also prayed for divine wisdom and guidance for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing hope that the administration’s policies and decisions would strengthen security, promote national unity and support restructuring efforts ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
He stressed the need for collective responsibility in nation-building, adding that citizens must continue to uphold the values of tolerance, sacrifice and selflessness which Eid al-Adha symbolises.
The Oluomo of Yewaland concluded by calling on Nigerians to continue praying for peace, stability and sustainable progress in the country.
