…Focus on balancing energy security with decarbonisation
Ogun State Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Hon. Oladapo Okubadejo, is set to join global policymakers and industry leaders at the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit 2026, scheduled to take place at the historic Mansion House in London from April 20 to 21.
Okubadejo will feature as a speaker at a high-level plenary session titled “Balancing Energy Security and Decarbonisation” on April 21, where critical issues shaping the future of global energy systems will be examined.
The session is expected to interrogate the delicate balance between accelerating climate action and ensuring stable, affordable energy supply, particularly amid mounting geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and disparities in access to energy infrastructure and financing across regions.
He will share the stage with an array of international experts, including Rob Macaire of Chatham House, who will chair the session, alongside Tim Calver of ITM Power, Jennifer Pryce of Calvert Impact, and Jeremy Wrathall of Cornish Lithium.
Key discussions will centre on emerging energy solutions such as green hydrogen, the strategic importance of critical minerals in the clean energy transition, and the growing role of impact investment in supporting equitable and sustainable energy development across both advanced and developing economies.
Okubadejo’s participation underscores Ogun State’s ongoing drive to position itself within global economic and policy conversations, with a strong emphasis on attracting investment, deepening infrastructure financing, and advancing sustainable development initiatives.
The Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit remains a premier global platform, convening top government officials, private sector stakeholders, and development experts to deliberate on issues shaping international trade, investment flows, and long-term economic growth.
